C.J Skateboard Park & School, along with Michael Brooke and Concrete Wave Magazine presents our 2nd Annual Father’s Day Competition tomorrow! Saturday June 19th 2010!

Registration is at 6pm and the Competition will start at 7pm

Entry fee is $10 (plus any equipment rental)

Prizes, lots of goodies and a few surprises!

UP COMING CONTESTS!!!


Starting April 2nd, every Friday at 6:00pm we will be holding a Best Trick Competition!

Admission to the park is your entry fee. 1 winner from each age category will be chosen and their name will appear on a trophy which will be held on display at the park.

All winners from each age groups will compete at the end of the year for a cash prize and a trophy!


Our first ever Freestyle Rollerblade Competition is on Saturday May 1st. Registration starts at 6:00pm and the competition will run from 7:00pm to 11:00pm. A cash prize will be awarded for The Best Trick Competition. Prizes will also be awarded in the Vert and Street Competition! (Amateur and expert)


A Skateboard Competition will be held every month starting on Saturday May 8th. Registration is at 6:00pm, contest runs from 7:00pm to 11:00pm. A cash prize will be awarded for The Best Trick Competition. Prizes will also be awarded for each group in the Vert and Street Competition! (3 age groups for boys and 1 group for girls)


We still have a wide selection of protective gear available for purchase, but it is selling fast so be sure to come down and get it before it’s gone!

Welcome Nate Taylor

First off, we would like to introduce Nate Taylor to the CJ Family. Nate will be heading up our new and exciting Rollerblading program as the Director of Inline Programming.

Additionally, we will be offering Inline students the chance to be included in the summer camp 2010 season, also private and group lessons are now available!! Please inquire at the park for further details.

We have got in BRAND NEW PRO-TEC HELMETS AND PADS!!!!! Lots of new colours and styles!!!! Come in and get yours today, because they are selling fast!!!!!

As of May 1st, summer camp prices will go up to $250.00 plus the cost of pad, helmet and skateboard rentals. So please book now and take advantage of the early bird price!!! Save $25.00!!!!

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT!!!

Starting March 15, 2010; we will BE OPEN MONDAY NIGHTS FROM 7:00pm – 10:00pm FOR A SPECIAL RATE OF $5.00, and GIRLS RIDE FOR FREE!!!!!! Getting through the winter can be tough on everyone, especially everyone’s wallets, so starting these “RECESSION SESSION MONDAYS” should prove to be a lot of fun for a lot less!!!! Another SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT!!!!

We are going to be holding the first ever Inline Competition at CJ Skateboard Park on April 30th 2010!!!!! There will be two levels of competitors; Amateur and Professional (more details to follow). The competition entry fee will be $15.00 and will include a slice of Pizza, provided by Pizza Pizza!! The Competition will be judged on y our lines, style and number of tricks landed. There will also be a best trick and hammer prizes. Please call to register or do so at the park!! Registration day of will be 6:00pm with the competition beginning at 7:00pm sharp on April 30th 2010. Hope to see everyone there!!!!!!

Special Announcement - Family Day

Announcement!!!


CJ Skateboard Park & School will be open this Monday Feb 15th for FAMILY DAY!!

Hours for public skate will be from 9:00am to 5:00pm.


We will also be holding a camp on FAMILY DAY!!
Please sign up soon!!
Priced at $45 for the day!!

Drop off is from 8:30am – 9:00am and pick up is from 4:30pm – 5:00pm. The day begins with a group stretch, followed by a group class and a healthy snack at which time we will break for lunch (included). After lunch, campers can skate anywhere in the facility, take part in organized games, or enjoy arts & crafts. Campers will have another afternoon snack and more skate time until 4:30pm.

Please take advantage of early registration for March Break camp, priced at $225.00 (plus pads, helmet or skateboard rentals). Early registration will be closing on March 8th, 2010. After this date, Camp will be priced at $250.00 (plus any pads, helmet or skateboard rentals).

We have reduced prices for our G.C.M.S. (Group Camp Morning Sessions on Saturdays from $25 to $20) and our P.P.F. (Pizza Party Fridays from $20 to $15) Please sign up soon for our Saturday morning G.C.M.S program, which includes a 15 minute group stretch and warm-up, 1 hour group lesson, 1 ¾ hours free skate and/or choice of organized games in the park, healthy snack and Gatorade (powdered). There are 13 spots still available and the Saturday Program runs from 9:00am – 12:00pm

New prices: $2.00 per set of pads ($1each). $20.00 per all day pass. $20.00 deposit for skateboard rentals.

We are buying new pads to replace the old pads.

The Great Rock n Roll Flea Market has been cancelled for Saturday, March 13th, 2010. However, we will be holding another similar event scheduled for April where we will be organizing the whole event, details to follow.

We have a new In-line program!! Please inquire at the park for details and sign up for a lesson!!

The CJ Academy explores the basics of digital development from still shots to live action segments.

Students learn the art, science, theory of research and planning, character development, storytelling, design, editing, programming, and project management. Our programs will focus on basic skills, objectives, teamwork and basic knowledge of digital media compositions.

Wacky Wheels Monday!!!

On Monday, February 22, 2010 from 6:00pm to 9:00pm; we will allow scooters and unicycles (along with skateboarders and in-liners) to use the park. There will be park limitations to the scooters and unicycles; the foam pit and vert ramp will be off-limits. Additionally, we will inspect all scooters and unicycles and they will need to comply with our safety requirements or they will not be allowed. A special price of $13 for the 3 hour session.

Registration will be open next week for summer camp 2010!!! Dates are posted on the website or you can call us at the park!! Cost for summer camps will be $225 (tax in), plus any pad or board rentals will be additional that are required if paid in advance. Any booking received after May 1st will be at the cost of $250 plus rentals. So please don’t delay, this year is going to be better than ever!!

Parents or guardians: we do have some grants available and work hours for anyone who may need assistance for sending their children to camp so please ask Eric or Nicole for more information which will all be kept confidential.

Our coloured hoodies are selling well and are sure to keep you warm this winter weather your a skater or not and we have all sizes $29.99 each!! (If we run out we can reorder in 1 week)

We also have C.J. Skateboard Park & School Gift cards. They come in $25 and $50 card values.

Now that everyone is back at school, its time to start sorting out your calendar for the New Year!!

We all had a blast this holiday season with two great camp sessions!! Many thanks go out to our amazing volunteers, staff, campers and everyone that made everyday a success!!
