Pepsi Good Idea $100,000 Challenge!

Hello Everyone!

C.J. Skateboard Park & School is very excited to announce that we have been accepted to participate in an online grant program and we need your support!

Starting January 4th 2011 everyone will be able to vote online for their favourite cause. Please visit http://pep.si/edDzJC to help us in our efforts to reduce the division between youth and youth with disabilities in our community. You will be able to vote once per day, and the last day to vote will be Feb 28th 2011.

Skateboarding can break down communication barriers and allow children to be on a level playing field. Even though skateboarding is an individual sport, it encourages kids to support and teach others around them. C.J. Skateboard Park & School is a place to build lasting friendships and to develop the tools kids need to become leaders in our community.

Thank you in advance for your votes!

Registration is still open for March Break Camp. The day begins at 8:30 am with a group class and a healthy snack. We then break into smaller classes according to each camper’s ability. EXCITING NEWS!
C.J. Skateboard Park has decided to expand its mini ramp section! We felt the need to add something different, so we’ve started construction on a 6ft mini ramp! The ramp should be completed soon!

Also, Friday nights will be changing on April 1st at C.J.’s! Bank of Montreal Insurance has helped us to sponsor another recession session. With their help, Friday nights will now be "BMO Insurance Friday's" which will be 7pm-10pm for only $5! This new night will be effective from April 1st - November 30th for the next 3 years. We are also working on a sponsor for Tuesday's, Wednesday's and Saturday's!!

PROGRAMS
We have exciting news about a new program!

CompetitionsStarting January 18th 2011, we will have a six week group lesson package for $120.00 which will include a 1 hour lesson and 1 hour of free skate. Students can attend a structured lesson program weekly where they will be a part of a consistent class of other skateboarders, learning skateboarding and progressing their skill levels. There will be a report filled out for each student showing his or her progress and areas to improve upon.

This program will replace our current Tuesday / Thursday beginner group classes. Our weekend beginner classes will continue. Remember to register for these programs by January 14th.

Family Skate is the best way to have fun with your children, every Sunday from 10am until 12pm. Our Family Skate program is a one hour group lesson, followed by one hour of open skate. The best part about Family Skate is that it is only $10 and includes any rentals needed

SPONSORS
We would like to thank all of our new and old sponsors for all of the support we receive. Thank you to Bank of Montreal Insurance for making our new non winter Friday night recession session possible (which will be starting April 1st - November 30th). We are looking for more sponsors, to help us create more recession sessions Monday through Thursday, and are hoping to have more by the end of January. West 49 (also a newcomer) has donated many prizes for our upcoming contests, including Redstar Decks and West 49 Gift cards!

BMO

We would like to also thank Thomas Power, a student from the Oasis Skateboard Factory for donating his time and effort into making us a skateboard deck from scratch, which we will be displayed in the lobby. If you have any old Skateboard decks that you no longer need, please drop them off at the park, as we are collecting skateboards to hang on our wall and create a mural.

Please remember that C.J Skateboard Park is a NOT-FOR-PROFIT Corporation specializing in hosting a safe environment for all kids including those with special needs.

We are still in particular need of the following from sponsors:

  • An enclosed trailer to move portable ramps for off-site demos
  • 8 Macs for our film school
  • Commercial air-conditioner units
  • Film editing software

No matter how big or small a donation is we here at C.J. Skateboard Park appreciate any help given. Thank You!

Demos
Please feel free to contact us to arrange an on-site demo:
416-259-6888. We are more than happy to bring our best instructors and volunteers to your school, event, or special occasions to perform a demo and show you what we are all about including small talk on safety and prizes for correct answers by the people attending.

Birthday Parties
Want the coolest and most fun birthday party ever!!!! Its easy just book a birthday party online or simply call us at 416-259-6888 for all the details.

ID Cards
ID Cards are now mandatory. Next time you come in, we may ask you to have a picture taken.

Our ID Cards are only $5 and last an entire year. We are enforcing this program to enable us to serve you faster at our front desk, and to limit the amount of paper we use here at the park.
