August Skateboard Update!

SUMMER CAMP

We would like to officially give a big welcome to Josh Fine as our new C.J. Skate-camp Director who is also one of our senior instructors. This year's summer camp is halfway through and already it's been a non stop, fun filled, extreme adventure! We've got games like dodge-ball and capture the flag, sticker slap and high jump competitions, arts and crafts, team building, and of course the best skate instruction anywhere! Each week campers get an evaluation at the beginning and end of camp to show how they've progressed and what to work on. We still have some spots available in August so call to reserve your spot today! Registration is still open for Summer Camp. We're now into our 5th week of camp and the skating has been amazing. The day begins at 8:30 am with a group stretch then we break into smaller classes according to each camper's ability. Then mid morning we have a healthy snack followed with more lessons and then lunch is provided for all campers. After lunch campers can skate anywhere in the facility, enjoy an afternoon snack and other organized activities until 4:30 pm. Registration costs $250.00 for 5-day camp (which runs every week for the entire summer ending Sept 2nd). We're starting a customer appreciation program this summer, if you purchase 4 weeks of camp, the 5th one will be free.

EXCITING NEWS!
The new and improved street section is almost finished, just a couple more amazing obstacles to be built including a bank to bank wall ride! Newer with more variety, built by skaters for skaters... all sheeted in EcoTop Sport®. This stuff is fast and smooth! There's a huge new 7' bank with transitioned bottom, a Euro gap up to a 4' quarter pipe, a new pole jam, Jersey barriers and a whole lot more. Be sure to check it out.

There are always changes happening in our Pro Shop, in addition to some great renovations of the shop layout; we have recently received an order of new Helmets in many new colors and style! One helmet in particular, which has been selling fast, is the new Protec Spitfire helmet! Come in and have a helmet properly fitted by our staff. While there you can check out all of our new products from: Independent, Anti Hero, Thunder, Spitfire, Element, Gold, Skate Mental, ATM, Shorty's, Venture, DGK, Bones Wheels, Bones Bushings, Theeve Trucks etc, etc...) including branded stickers, and a larger wheel, bushing, truck and hardware selection. Having recently linked up with Ultimate Skateboard Distributors, stay tuned for more new brands in our pro-Shop!

We have also been making changes to our parent lounge! We now have a new big screen TV, Blue ray player, and entertainment centre. We have installed a wireless extender, so now you can receive wireless Internet throughout the park and Surgically Clean Air, has donated a shuffleboard table to the parent lounge as well!

PROGRAMS

Family Skate is the best way to have fun with your children, every Sunday from 10am until 12pm. Our Family Skate program is a one hour group lesson, followed by one hour of open skate. The best part about Family Skate is that it is only $10 and includes any rentals needed! We are in need of a sponsor for Family Skate, which runs every Sunday morning, as a low cost way of bringing families into our park.

At C.J. Skateboard Park, we have a variety of different lessons and programs that people can attend. We offer a Beginner Girls Group lesson on Saturday's @ 11:00, and one that is growing and becoming very popular is our Beginner Group lesson. In our Beginner group lessons, we start off with a group stretch, and then our instructor will assess the different abilities of each student, and guide each of them in the direction to better their abilities. After the one hour lesson, students also get one hour of free skate to practice what they have learned in the lesson. Our Beginner group lesson is held on Tuesday's and Thursday's (at 5pm) and on Saturday (at 10am and 1pm) and is only $20 or $15 with a membership card and includes all rentals except a skateboard.

Also, Friday nights have changed at C.J.'s! Bank of Montreal Insurance has helped us create another recession session. With their help, Friday nights are now "BMO Insurance Friday's" for membership holders, which will be 7pm-10pm for only $5! This new night will be effective from May 1st - October 31st for the next 3 years. We are also working on a sponsor for Tuesday's, Wednesday's, and Saturday's.

DEMOS / TEAM INFO:

We would like to officially give a big welcome to Phil Vertolli as our new Team Manager. He's also a great instructor at CJ's and now takes on this new role with us. This year's demo schedule has been busy and tons of fun! You may have seen us and our CJ's tent at the many parks throughout the GTA. If you've got demo suggestions or you're interested in becoming a CJ's Team Rider and have some killer footage or want to show your stuff at the park... you can contact Phil at phil@cjskateboardpark.com.

MEMBERSHIP CARDS:
Cards are now mandatory and are hooked into our system so we now where your kids are at all times. Next time you come in, we may ask you to have your picture taken. Our Cards are only $10 and last an entire year, the renewal fee for our membership cards will be $10 per year!
