June MiniUpdate!

In direct response to feedback we've received over the last year from parents and campers, CJ's Skateboard Park and School is proud to announce some big changes in programming this summer that are sure to keep kids engaged and having FUN!

Josh Fine is returning to the post of Summer Camp Director this year. We're also very pleased to have recently added Ariel Stagni as Director of Programming and Community Development, and Eric Bono as Head Coach.

Recreational Skateboard Summer Camp

We have redesigned the whole camp experience to include:

  • Improved Lesson Structure - A newly structured program rooted in a progressive based curriculum that reflects a long-term athlete development (LTAD) approach. This is in many ways similar to the leveled approach found in swimming programs.
  • Improved Menu – Our menu has been revamped to include truly healthier options. We're working on some final details for a caterer who will be helping us provide our campers with healthier foods and snacks.
  • Increased Outdoor Time – Campers will spend more time outdoors including cross training activities such as soccer, basketball, and swimming at a local pool.
  • Pro Demos – Select high level accomplished local skaters have confirmed their involvement with CJ's camps, which will include exposure for campers to the highest level of skateboarding around, plus some time to meet the Pros.

Advanced Skateboard Camp
We are introducing an exclusive first year pilot of a brand new concept in camp designed to serve skaters who have outgrown the recreational camp experience, and who are ready to take their skateboard development more seriously.

The Advanced Skateboard Camp includes:

  • A Focus on Coaching – Individualized plan designed collaboratively by coach and camper to ensure efficient and relevant use of training time.
  • Small Camper/Coach Ratio – A maximum 4:1 ratio resulting in more personal coach attention, and learning within a small group of similarly skilled (advanced) skaters.
  • New Terrain – Skating a wide variety of outdoor skateparks across the GTA (transportation to and from these parks included).
  • Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD) approach – Designed to always keep the long-term goals and health of the skater in mind.
  • Cross Training – Introduction to cross-training such as sport-specific fitness, flexibility, core and strength training to promote injury prevention and performance enhancement.
  • Skate with the Pros – Weekly meet and skate with select local high-level accomplished skaters.
